for soprano, 4 voices (choir ad lib.) & b. c., edited by Konrad Ruhland. The precentor (soprano) and the four-part choir alternate throughout the entire Psalm 148/150, with the precentor’s section simply being repeated in four parts by the choir. This “alternatim technique” virtually became a topos during the course of the seventeenth century and makes a tremendous effect. For large-scale performances, vocal scores (EW 501) can be ordered for the size of the choir.
