product description
by Bartolomeo de Selma y Salaverde and Giovanni Bassano, for soprano recorder (violin, treble gamba, cornetto) and organ (harpsichord), transcribed by Adrian Wehlte. A Few works have been preserved in which cantus and bass diminutions were noted at the same time. Two works by Palestrina are masterfully written down: “Vestiva i colli – Prima parte” (Salaverde) and “Pulchra es, amica mea” (Bassano).
„... zweier Highlights bereichern angenehm das Repertoire. ... ist die Duo-Diminution von Salaverde aus dem Jahr 1638 ein kleines Meisterwerk.“ ESTA-NACHRICHTEN, 84/2020
„The texts, given in Latin and German, sing the praises of spring and a shepherdess who collects flowers to adorn the reader of the text The music is also light-hearted with bits of canonic treatment. These are fun arrangements of very old music.“ AMERICAN RECORDER, Fall/2021
