product description
new edition, edited by Leonore and Günter von Zadow. This work was intended as a duo in which the harmonic filler between the upper and lower parts has been consciously dispensed with. In this eight-movement suite written in the French style, the composer oriented himself on the overture style of the great Magdeburg composer Telemann. The work may have been composed in the 1740s, in as much as it displays early Classical characteristics. The lower voice can also be played on a second (six-string) viol. CD recording by Sandor Szaszvarosi and Koussay Mahdi Kadduri, Hungaroton HCD 32455. New edition, Edition Güntersberg
