product description
for organ solo arranged by Harald Feller. This organ transcription (Durata: 5‘) was inspired by Widor's “Mattheus Final” from “Bach's Memento”, a collection of free transcriptions. The present arrangement is in principle based on Widor's arrangement, albeit with serious changes. Overall, the movement has been made somewhat more compact by the addition of further parts, making it seem even more ‘symphonic’. The last nine bars have been completely rewritten. This gives the hopeful aspect of the Passion its musical counterpart. Surprisingly, despite its stylistically different elements, the work as a whole comes across as a fairly unified, impressively dramatic concert piece without any stylistic break.
